PIONEER WOMAN OF MERCED DIES
Merced, Nov 5 - Mrs Sophia Devaurs, 80, one of the early settlers of Merced died in a hospital here Saturday night. Mrs Devaurs and her husband, Adolph Devaurs settled in Merced sixty years ago. Her husband died in 1930. The couple were active in the early development of the city and county.
Mrs Devaurs was a native of Decazeville Aveyron, France. She is survived by five sons, Ernest , Emile, Albert, George and August of Merced and two daughters, Mrs D Bordagaray of Coalinga and Mrs Samuel Migleccio of Oakland. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
