Faye A. Mitchell, age 94, of LaPlata, Missouri, passed away Saturday (October 13, 2001), at the LaPlata Nursing Home, LaPlata, Missouri.
Born February 20, 1907 in Dalton City, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lewis A and Lilly (Medler) Nihiser. On August 28,1926, in LaPlata, Missouri, she married Elmer L Mitchell, who preceded her in death on January 18, 1997.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Lawrence Mitchell, two sisters, Grace Cribb and Fern Sheler, one brother, Guy Nihiser, two grandchildren and two great grand children.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, James And Frances Mitchell of Henderson, Kentucky; and one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Johnnie Almond of Topeka, Kansas; one sister Waneta Kittle of Kirksville, Missouri; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Faye lived most all of her life in Macon County, where for more than sixty years she lived on her farm southwest of LaPlata. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday (October 15,2001) at the Travis Funeral Chapel, LaPlata, Missouri with the Pastor Sheila Swafford officiating. Organist will be Shirley Matticks. Burial wil be in the LaPlata Cemetery, LaPlata, Missoui
