Local Organist Taken by Death At New Hartford
Miss Salome E. Reusswig, 63, for nine years organist of Moravian Church, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Clarence Gurley, 10 Oxford Road, New Hartford. Death yesterday resulted from a three year illness.
She was born in Utica, May 1,1864, daughter of the late Ernst H. and Mary Sittig Reusswig and attended local schools. Miss Reusswig trained under Prof. Joseph Sieboth, then organist for Grace Church and taught Sunday School for some time. After moving to New Hartford, she attended St. Stephen's Church there.
She leaves four brothers, Fred E. Grand Rapids, Minn., George A. New Hartford, and Albertus J. , Utica. Three sisters; Mrs. Gurley, Mrs. George Heidenreich, Bluefields, Nicaragua, and Mrs. Herbert Johnson, Winston Salem, N. C., two Aunts, Mrs. Sarah Weiss, Watertown, Wis.: and Mrs. John Roth, Utica, also 26 Nieces and nephews.
