Robert was an artistic carefree individual who traveled the world literally on a thin dime. One time he was in a middle eastern country during the Vietnam war and was wearing a US army jacket, suddenly he found himself being chased by a mob! He managed to get to the roof top and start jumping roof top to roof top, throwing the army jacket away in the process. Another time he had met some sheep herders in Afghanistan, and they enjoyed his company offering him an eyeball to eat, he couldn't refuse and ate it so as not to offend anyone. He always said never be empty handed when they invite you to dinner, precious words of wisdom.

He and his first wife Pam moved to Guatemala, but they separated, and he continued to live in the province of Quiche, years later he fell in love with another lady and they had a family there until the war forced them to migrate north. He was a professional finish carpenter and a talented creative wood carver.

Robert was hit by a car while on his nightly walk near Chesterfield Drive shortly after 11 pm and died from his injuries.
