Our loving father, grandfather, and friend, Harold Billeter Pratt, 89, passed away peacefully February 3, 2001.
Harold was born Jan 31, 1912, in Salt Lake City, UT to William Parker and Catherine Billeter Pratt. As the 11th of 15 children [Harold was actually the 7th child born of 15], Harold enjoyed an active life, and as a young man he pursued several occupations, including timing race cars at Bonneville Salt Flats. He worked as a Machinist at Kennecott Copper Corporation for 35 years before retinitis Pigmentosa robbed him of his sight.
On March 22, 1939, he married Murtice Elizabeth Davis Johnson. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, two stepsons, Ted and Brent Johnson, and 11 of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter Rae Ann Pratt Jensen, and stepson, Harold P. Johnson.
A viewing will be Mon. Feb 5, 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. At Harold's request, a graveside service for his family and friends will be held Tues. Feb 6, 2001, at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd, 11 a.m.
Harold's family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at Alta Care Center for their caring and compassionate service.
In loving tribute to Grandpa, for his courage and endurance in the face of affliction. May his memory live in our hearts, and may his example remind us that where there is faith, there is a light to guide the way through even the darkest moments of our lives. We love you. [End of Obit]
