The Reverend Salvadore Eglecias celebrated Requiem Mass at Five Wounds Church this morning for John F. Tobar, while services at Calvary Cemetery were conducted by Rev. Joseph Porto.

Home for his father's funeral was Prvt. James Tobar of the Army, stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. He is one of six sons in the service, including Pfc. John Tobar Jr., Pfc. Jerome Tobar and Pfc. Joseph Tobar, all with the army overseas; Anthony Tobar, S 1/c, and Eugene Tobar, MoMM 3c with the Navy.

Pallbearers at the funeral, conducted from the Rancadore and Alameda Funeral Home were Herman Hernandez, R (Red) Fitzgerald, J(ohn) Freitas, F. Soares, G(eorge) Smoot and Gabriel Padilla.

Aside from the six sons, Tobar is survived by his widow Catherine, another son Thomas, and daughters Rebecca and Caroline Tobar and Mrs. Catherine Ringo of Los Gatos; Mrs. Mary Vance of Santa Clara and Mrs. Rose Marie Aranda of Fresno. He also leaves 11 grandchildren.

He was engaged for many years in quicksilver mining in this county and San Benito County.
