The fifth of seven children, Boots was born and raised in eastern Kentucky and grew up during the depression. During WWII, she moved to Florida while her husband was serving in the US Navy. With the exception of a couple of years, she lived the rest of her life in this area of Florida. Devoted to her family and friends, she worked hard to make a good life for her family and made a very hospitable home where she loved to entertain her extended family and friends. Her only child, born at Jax NAS, still lives in the area.
