Ruth was born in South Dakota and migrated to Alberta, Canada in 1900. The family moved to San Diego, CA in about 1905. After the passing of both parents by 1914 she moved to Phoenix, AZ with her sister Lola Crosby and appears in the 1920 US census in AZ. She married Fred Beever of Douglas, AZ in 30 Nov. 1921 and lived there until her tragic death in a home fire in 1924, just 3 months after the birth of her son.
