CROSBY was born in Illinois (as can best be determined from census records). He married Julia PERKINS in Minnesota before migrating to Mound City S.D. before 1885 (birth year of firstborn son). In 1899 – 1900 the family migrated to Lacombe, Alberta, Canada to homestead. (homestead entry on SW14-41-25W4, east of Lacombe, Alberta, on Feb. 6, 1900) One of William and Julia’s daughters (Lottie) married Thomas Jones and remained in Alberta while the rest of the family moved to San Diego, California c. 1905. William died in 1906, Julia in 1914, and the youngest son David died in 1913. The youngest daughter, Ruth moved to AZ to live with her married sister (Lula Pinel). Frank the oldest son remained in the NW and died in 1947. Ruth married Fred Beever in 1921 and moved to Douglas, AZ, but tragically died in a fire in 1924.
