Elizabeth B. Tayloe was the mother of Nellie Tayloe Ross, first woman governor in the United States (Wyoming).

Elizabeth Blair Green Tayloe was the daughter of Samuel Ball Green Sr. (1802-1858) and Amanda Bruce Davis (1825-1865).

She married James Wynns Tayloe (1832-1920) on 15 January 1863 at St. Joseph, Buchanon Co., Missouri. The couple had 8 children: Wesley Bailey Tayloe (1864-1899); Wm Alexander (1866-1873); Samuel Green (1868-1958); James Wynns Jr. (1871-1873); George Green (1874-1946); Nellie Davis (1876-1977), Governor of Wyoming; Mattie A. (1880-1884); and Alfred Duff (1882-1908). Elizabeth Blair Green Tayloe's siblings were: Samuel Ball Green Jr. (1842 - before 1908); Harriett Green (1847-1940), m. Wm. Rochester Davis; George Duff Green (1852-1920); Alexander Duff Green (1853-1920); and Duff Alfred Green (1857-1908).
