A November 1913 obituary in the Hustler Newspaper from Walnut Springs, TX, reads:

Mrs. Rundell united with the Methodist Church, South, while young and remained true to the cause all through life. Always cheerful, always considerate, she lived to bless a host of relatives and friends.
They came to Texas 56 years ago, one year later to Bosque Co. where she has since made her home. Her husband died in 1867, and was the first person buried in what is known as the Russell cemetery. She was laid to rest by the side of her husband, Tuesday, Nov.4, Rev. McGinter officiating.
To know Aunt Dicie, as she was commonly called, was to love her. The writer of this has known her for about a half century and she was one of the most Christlike women that I ever saw in my life. As I think back over her life, it seems to me that she must always asked herself the queston: What would my Saviour do in this case, and then did as she thought He would have done. Oh, how sweet it is to stand and look at one that Jesus has called to come and stay with Him through eternity.

Another obituary (cut from an unknown Walnut Springs newspaper) reads:

A Pioneer Passes Away
Aunt "Dicy" Rundell, as she was familiarly call [sic], passed away at the home of her son, I. S. Rundell near the city last Monday night at the age of 84 years and the remains were laid to rest in Russell cemetery Tuesday afternoon to the presence of a large crowd of sorrowing friends Rev. R. J. McGinty conducting the funeral service.
Deceased had resided here for over 50 years and was a grand, good woman whom everyone loved and respected. The infirmity of age has had a telling effect upon her for the past several years and her death although a shock, was expected. She leaves a daughter and two sons, Mrs. A. K. Bender of DeLeon and I. S. and S. I. Rundell of this city beside many other relatives and innumerable friends to mourn her departure. Our tenderest sympathy is extended in this hour of sorrow.
