Constance "Connie" Omdahl, 82, of Thief River Falls, MN., passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center, in Fargo, ND., with her loving family by her side.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a 5:00 PM Prayer Service, and a Memory Sharing Time at 6:30 PM, on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Service, in Thief River Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 PM, on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, in Thief River Falls, MN., with Msgr. Timothy McGee, presiding. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
On January 10, 1940, Constance was born to Clarence (Kelly) and Barbara (Morrisey) Arnold, in Crookston, MN. In her early years, she lived in Angus, Duluth, and Wahkon. She attended a two-room grade school in Angus, MN., before she attended Warren High School, Warren, MN. During her High School years, she played the bass drum, acquiring the name "Boom Boom" Arnold.
On September 20, 1956, Constance was united in marriage to Donald "Don" Omdahl, in Euclid, MN. They were blessed with four children—Debra, Vicki, Greg, and Katherine. They raised their family in Thief River Falls, MN., where Connie was a homemaker for many years. She also worked at the Corner Drug store, Northland Community College, owned and operated the Twice But Nice store for 23 years, and was part owner of Lantern Restaurant, along with her husband and partners. She served on several boards: Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary, Thief River Falls Housing Redevelopment Authority, TRF Chamber of Commerce, and Midwest MN Community Development Corporation. Connie also served as president of the Woman's Curling League, she was an active member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church, serving Stephen Ministries, secretary of the Guild, past president of the Broomfield Colorado Mrs. J.C's, an ambassador for the City of Bromfield in the 60's. She played and coached softball, enjoyed golf, curling, bowling, and bridge, and loved dancing. She especially enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Connie is survived by: her husband, Don, TRF; children: Deb, TRF, Greg, Fargo, ND., Kathy (Mike) Wright, Mpls, MN.; 7 grandchildren: Sam, Kevin, Kendra, Abby, Kyja, Sean, and Birgen; 8 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Brayden, Daxton, Aspyn, Cadan, Zoey, Laci, and Chase; 1 sister: Jackie Lee, AZ.; in-laws: Janet Arnold Gast, Bob Filipy, and Peter Hapka; many cousins; nieces; and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vicki "Brynn;" son-in-law, Phil Hartman; daughter-in-law, Kathy Louise Omdahl; siblings: Eddy, George, and Sandy.
The family of Connie greatly appreciates the support and care given by Hospice and Sandford Hospital, TRF.
The family suggests donations be given to St. Bernard's Catholic Church and Warren High School Foundation Fund.
