After receiving recognition from the Arthur Godfrey radio program "Talent Scouts" the ensemble signed on with the Cadence Record Label and enjoyed immense commercial success with the singles "Mr. Sandman" (which reached number one on the American Pop Charts and earned gold record status in 1954), "Born To Be With You" (which achieved a number five placing in 1956), "Just Between You And Me " (1957), "Lollipop" (receiving a number two placing in 1958), the theme song for the TV series "Zorro" (1958) and the title song "Never On Sunday" from the motion picture of the same title (1961). During the height of their popularity, the performed on the TV Programs "American Bandstand" and "The Ed Sullivan Show." After leaving the group during the mid 1960s, she received a Masters Degree in Special Education from Hofstra University. "The Chordettes" were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001.
