Rose Wasinger, 93, Hays, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Hays Good Samaritan Center.

She was born April 18, 1919, in Schoenchen to William and Anna (Munsch) Gottschalk. She grew up east of Schoenchen and attended school in Schoenchen.

She married Joseph Wasinger in 1961 in Schoenchen. He preceded her in death.

She was a lifetime resident of Schoenchen. She worked at Kessler Cleaners and La Crosse Furniture Manufacturers and retired in 1983. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Schoenchen. She was a member of Hays American Legion Auxiliary, Hays Daughters of Isabella and Hays Medical Center Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Marcus, Adolph, Wendelin, Peter and Vincent Gottschalk; and seven sisters, Louise Hoerner, Martina Roth, Amelia Gottschalk, Regina Bieker, Mary Pfannenstiel, Bernadine Unrein and Bertha Schemedeman.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Schoenchen; burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Schoenchen. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. A Daughters of Isabella/St. Anthony Altar Society rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m. Sunday, both at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Cemetery Association Fund in care of the mortuary.
