Mrs. Mary Rose Phannenstiel, 79, 1208 Orleans died Saturday at a Topeka nursing home.

She was born Dec. 28, 1903 at Schoenchen, daughter of William & Anna Munch Gottachalk. Mrs. Pfannenstiel was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Her husband, Joseph P. Pfannenstiel, survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Edna Pfannenstiel and Mrs. LaVera Hood, both of Topeka, Mrs. Darlene Brown, Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Lois Haddock, San Antonio, Texas; a son, LaVerne Pfannenstiel, Leavenworth; five sisters, Mrs. Bernadine Unrine, Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Bertha Schmidemann, Dwight, Mrs. Rose Wasinger, Schoenchen, Mrs. Martine Roth, Pfeifer, and Mrs. Louise Horner, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Wendline Gottschalk, Coffeyville, Marcus Gottschalk, Coffeyville, and Adolph Gottschalk, LaCrosse; 21 grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Pfannenstiel will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Brennan Funeral Home where parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday.
