Charles H. Wilkins, 57, former Coltman LDS Ward bishop and farmer, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Rasmussen, Thursday evening of a heart attack.
He was born March 26, 1900 at Coltman. He received his elementary education at Coltman and attended the Utah State University at Logan.
On July 22, 1925 he married Eula Fletcher in the Logan LDS Temple. After their marriage they lived in Coltman and operated a farm.
Mr. Wilkins served as a counselor to Bishop Jacob Stucki for seven years and was bishop of the Coltman ward for six years. He was recently released from the high council in the North Idaho Falls Stake. he also served as a Scout Master, building committee member and superindent of the M IA in the Coltman Ward. At the time of his death he was a director of the Wilkins Canal Co.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Prof. Kay Wilkins of Rexburg; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Ina) Rasmussen; three grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Jennie Wilkins, Coltman; and by brothers and sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Luella) Gibson, Pocatello; Mrs. William (Clara) Lords, Garfield; Bishop Ralph Wilkins and Ray Wilkins, both of Coltman.
Friends may call at the Coltman church from noon Tuesday until time of services and prior to that time at the Wood Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Grant Cemetery.
