David's brother Uriah married Mary "Polly" Hamblen and after many moves ended up in Glasgow, Scott Co., Ill. Uriah was born in 1801 in Lincoln Co., KY. and d. July 6. 1858 in Scott Co., Ill. David and Uriah's father may have been Samuel Lock. There was a Samuel Lock living in Scott Co., IN. in 1820.

One of the pioneers of Adams Co., Mr. David Locke, died at his home in Richland (seems to be a misprint should be Richfield), last Friday, in the 84th year of his age. He was a Kentuckian by birth. He came to this county and built one of the first houses on Stone Prairie, as early as the year 1829 and has been an active man in developing the resources of the county since that time. He was the father of 10 children, all grown to years of manhood and womanhood.
