Jerry enlisted in the US Air Force in 1948 for 4 years during the Berlin Air Lift. He retired from Petro-Tex Chemical after 42 ½ years. He was actively involved in baseball, softball, and other sports for over 22 years to be with his children. He was an active Knights of Columbus member and a lifelong Catholic. Jerry served our Lord at St. Pius V for 50 years in various duties and as an usher in his later years. His passions in life were his wife Rosalie, his church, his family and friends.
His wife Rosalie of 56 years precedes Jerry in death. His four children and spouses survive him; sons Chuck Bezdek and wife Donna, Marty Bezdek and wife Cindy, daughters Sandy Morgan and husband Mike, Tina Davis and husband Steve. Dad was proud of his grandchildren Chris and wife Jennifer, Justin, Casey, Stephanie, Leslie, and Blake along with his great-grandchildren Brianna, Mary, Ryan, Kylie. Other family survivors include his loving sister Ruth Broughton and husband Bob, his brother Norbert (Pee Wee) Bezdek and wife Johnnie.
Visitation will be on April 6, 2008 from 4-7 PM at Pasadena Funeral Chapel with a Rosary beginning at 7 PM. The celebration of Jerry's life will be held at St. Pius V Catholic Church on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 9 AM. He will be laid to rest at the St. Procopius Catholic Cemetery Louise, Texas at 4 PM.
