A resident of this city for 59 years, Bruno Mehnert, 80, of 407 23rd street, passed away at 7:30 o'clock Saturday evening at Mercy hospital, following an extended illness.

Mr. Mehnert was born March 16, 1866, at Saxony, Germany, and came to this country and directly to Oshkosh in 1887, living here continuously since that time. He was married later in this city to Miss Antoma Lindner, who died Nov. 13, 1929. His second wife, the former Mrs. Hulda Schultz, also preceded him in death in 1938.

He was a member of Emmanual Evangelical and Reformed church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Allie Noe, Mrs. Harold Clochesy, Oshkosh; and Mrs. Bernhard Gertsch ,Fond du Lac; one son, Fred Mehnert, Oshkosh; a brother, Henry Mehnert, Houston, Tex.; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and a sister in Germany.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Marquardt funeral home, with the Rev. Edwin Becker officiating. Interment will be in Peace Lutheran cemetery. Friends may call up to the time of the services at the funeral home.
