She was the operator of the Combs Market, formerly Grigsby Market, about 1½ mile north of the accident scene, and was the mother of a daughter, 17, who attends M.C. Napier High School, and was the former wife of Dewey Grigsby. State Police reported that the Grigsby vehicle was traveling south on Hwy. 15 at 8:55 a.m. when she apparently lost control of her vehicle, traveled across the road into the northbound lane and collided with the sanitation truck driven by Barlow Stidham Jr., age 21, of Busy. Stidham was treated and released at Hazard ARH Hospital. A passenger in the Stidham truck, Gary Baker, of Yeaddiss, was not hurt, police said.
Mrs. Combs, was the daughter of Charles and Opal Combs, born to them in Perry County, Kentucky, on March 28, 1942. Besides her mother and daughter, survivors include, a brother and two sisters. Burial was in the Combs Family Cemetery, at Grapevine, Kentucky.
