Vilma G. Holland, age 76, of Oxford, a native of Caguas, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Holland was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, and a renowned artist, specializing in pen and ink, painting and fashion design. She attended Nazareth College in KY, The University of Puerto Rico, and the Fashion Institute of Technology at the State University of New York. She and a partner founded the Thomas Alva Edison School in Caguas, for this contribution she was honoured in her country as one of the "Grand Ladies of Puerto Rico".
She is survived by her husband, P.J. Holland of Conyers; very close nieces and nephews, Dr. Oswaldo Gonzalez, MD, and Marilyn Sauders of TX; brother and sisters, Placido Gonzalez, Oswaldo Gonzalez, William Gonzalez, Candida Alverez, Olga Ramos Isern, all of Puerto Rico; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank Lahrman, IL, Gertrute Clevas, Northern KY, Mary Lou Wulfeck, Northern KY, Norma Faith, Northern KY; and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral mass will be held on Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with Father Roberto Orellana serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers.
