On Legacy
Patrick Joseph (PJ) Holland, age 86, was born 10 March 1933 in Covington, Kenton, KY & died on 22 March 2019 in Plano, Collin, TX. As an infant, PJ was given up for adoption. PJ lived at St. Elizabeth Hospital and St. John's Orphanage. He served in the US Army from 1949 to 1952. During his career, he lived and traveled extensively throughout Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. PJ credits his success in life to his adoptive mother, Antonia Clara Teigeler Lahrman. She made it possible for PJ to attend school after his stint in the Army. After graduation, she found a 'want ad' and insisted that he apply for a job that required travel outside of the USA. That job led to PJ's 30+ years' career in the oil and gas business. PJ was married to the Latin Painter, Vilma G. Holland, from 1970 until her death in 2005. PJ is survived by his adoptive (Lahrman) and biological (Holland) families that include his niece, Marilyn Cleves Souders (Jim) of Plano, TX: grandnephew Nicholas Charles Souders (Margaret, sons Joseph & Paul, daughter Edith) of Hollis, NH: grandniece Joanna Marie Souders Fowler (Michael, sons James & Ronan) of Plano, TX: sister Gertrude Ann Lahrman Cleves (Edgar Nicholas) of Fort Thomas, KY: sister Mary Louise Lahrman Wulfeck of Fort Mitchell, KY: sister-in-law Joan Emily Bockweg Lahrman of Cary, IL and many more cousins, nieces & nephews. His Holland family includes the Burt, Furlong, Mudon, Norman, & Rogers families. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vilma G. Holland: his adoptive parents, August Franz and Antonia Clara Teigeler Lahrman: his biological parents, Edward Frank McGoran and Agnes M. Holland: brother-in-law, Robert Louis Wulfeck: brother Francis Charles Lahrman: and sister, Norma Rosalia Lahrman and her husband Charles Edward Faeth. A private memorial service will be held for the family.
