Odell Campbell passed away on Wednesday , January 11, 1978 at 5:45 p.m. in the Wayne County Hospital following a sudden illness. Born Oct. 9, 1906 in Wayne County, he was the son of the late J.D . Campbell and the late Polly Belle Huffaker Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Beulah Gabbert Campbell, a son, Harold Raymond Campbell, one brother, James B Campbell, and many close relations.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan . 14 at the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church by Bro Gifford Walters, Bro Jessie Hammond and Bro Thomas D. Hill, with burial in Elk Spring Cemetery.
Pallbearers were former students and basketball players of Mr. Campbell. They were Everett Blevins, Guy Blevins, Kohler Corder, Clyde Ramsey, Herbert Ramsey, and John Stringer Honorary pallbearers were Robert Burnett, Perk Denney, Shelby Keeton and A.J Lloyd.
