FRANK BRIEGER

Frank Brieger, 89, a resident of Kiel and the Kiel vicinity for many years, died this morning at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Brieger, 828 Sixth St., Kiel. Mr. Brieger was born in Berlin, Germany, Nov. 17, 1867, and came to the United States in 1892. He farmed near Valley City, N.D., for a time, then operated a farm near Kiel until his retirement in 1921. He moved to Kiel after his retirement. Mr. Brieger's wife, the former Amelia Hoffmann, who also was a native of Germany, preceded him death in February, 1929. Survivors are three sons, Edward and William, of Kiel, and Frank Jr., Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Oscar (Rose) Arnold, Kiel; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Frank Hartmann, died in July, 1956. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Kiel following brief rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home at 9 a.m. The Rev. George Kiefer will be the celebrant of the requiem mass, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday. A vigil will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Monday.
