A trip originally planned for pleasure and visiting by the Peter Jutzes turned to be one of mourning, at the passing of Mr. Jutz, at Hope, North Dakota, at 10:45 p.m., Sunday, while there.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jutz left for Hope, North Dakota, November 26th, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Rohloff and family, who had spent Thanksgiving with the Jutz family here. Mr. and Mrs. Jutz intended to remain there until December 6th.
At the time of his death, Mr. Jutz was spending an evening of cards at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jutz. Suddenly he swooned, and death followed almost instantly. The cause of his death was a blood clot. His health had been good until several months ago, when he first showed signs of ailment.
As death occurred, he was 66 years of age, born at New Ulm, Minn. on May 15, 1884. He married Lena Meyer at Hoven, South Dakota, January 11, 1911. 37 years ago they came to this community, purchasing their present farm and home from John Tretter, located four and one-half miles northwest of Pierz.
Besides his wife, nine children survive. They are: Mrs. George Konen (Agnes), and Mrs. Dudley (Leona), Ft. Ripley; Mrs. Henry Winscher (Emelia), Little Rock; Mrs. Joe Konen (Mildred), Anoka; Mrs. Arnold Rohloff (Christina), and Walter and Raymond, Hope, North Dakota; and Reinhard and Isadore, Pierz.
