Folk Figure. Newen was a Chilean cat whose name inspired the children's rap song "Newen's Rap" in 2018, composed by one of his owners. Born under the name of Mostaza, he was abandoned due to his blindness. He was found in Conchalí, where he lived a few months before being finally adopted. Newen lived a big part of his life in Puente Alto, becoming a popular figure for his owners' friends and known ones, due to his mischievious character and personality.
On October 18, 2023, he was found weak and didn't annoy his cat sisters as per usual. Two days later he was diagnosed with an advanced key disease. He passed away on October 22, 2023, as a result of a fatal organ failure.
