Eliza Ann McComas and James Fulkerson were married Dec. 28, 1843 in Cabell County, (West) Virginia.

She died at her parents' plantation, "Mulberry Grove."

She had a gravestone at one time.

James Fulkerson married 2nd Frances Elizabeth Hereford, Nov. 12, 1846 in Floyd County, Kentucky.

The following was written by Mildred L. (McKendree) Henderson, niece of Eliza.

Eliza lived at Louisa, Kentucky and had one son, William "Billy Button" Fulkerson. She never recovered after the birth of her son. Her mother left the McComas plantation on a skiff on the Guyan(dotte) River, rowed by a strong negro slave. They rowed down the Guyan(dotte) River to the Ohio River and then up the Big Sandy River to Louisa. A bed was made in the end of the boat for Aunt Eliza and her baby and they rowed down the Big Sandy, up the Ohio and up the Guyan(dotte), to the home place. They stopped with friends at night, along the river, and it took a number of days to make the trip. Aunt Eliza died and was buried up on the hill. I saw her tombstone in 1927, at the time I brought the tombstone of Mildred (Ward) McComas, my grandmother, home with me to St. Albans and we still have it.
