Mrs. Ruby Hill Simmons, age 82, of Montpelier, died Sunday, October 30 1988 at Clay County Medical Center in West Point. Funeral services were held Monday, October 31 at Palestine United Methodist Church. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery with Dr. Felix Sutphin officiating. Special music was provided by Mrs. Nancy Cliett.

The daughter of the late Charlie Hill and the late Hattie O'Neal Hill, she was a native of Pine Bluff. She was the widow of the late William Louis Simmons and was a homemaker and a member of Palestine United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Charles H Simmons of Conroe, Texas and Sammy L Simmons, William J "Jap" Simmons and Hansel H Simmons, all of West Point; three sisters, Miss Bama Hill, Miss Carrie Mae Hill and Miss Lucinda Hill, all of Mantee; one brother, O'Neal Hill of Mantee and 11 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Woody Simmons, Jeffrey Simmons, Kelly Simmons, Curtis Simmons, Anthony Morgan and Pat Carty.

Calvert Funeral Home of West Point was in charge of arrangements.
