SHREVE - Margaret L. Kauffman, 90 of Shreve, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020 at LifeCare Hospice Wooster. She was born July 17, 1930 in Congress to J. Floyd and Erma (Swartz) Strock and married Dale Kauffman November 6, 1949, they had been married 70 years.

Margaret was the best cook ever! She was especially known for her pies, which she made every day but Sunday. No recipe was needed as she knew the consistency of the dough by touch. She was an amazing farmers wife, taking great care of her family, each one was dearly loved. Her kind and gentle spirit, that was evident to all who knew her ,also allowed her to raise her cows and calves to maturity.

Margaret was a member of the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, where she served as trustee, and was head of the hospitality committee for a number of years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Linda (Chet) Franks, Denny (Chris) Kauffman and Jenny (Jason) Shumaker all of Shreve; grandchildren, Craig (Cheryl) Franks, Carl Franks, Brayden Shumaker and Chole Shumaker; and 2 greatgrandchildren, Courtney (Coleton) Young and Christie Franks and her fiancée Connor Orr.

She was preceded in death by a son Robert Dale Kauffman on December 29, 2017 and seven brothers and sisters, Benjamin Strock, Kathryn Fetter, Kenneth Strock, Paul Strock, Mary Schaaf, Lavonne Uhl and Eileen Strock.

Private family services will be held at Hopewell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Christopher P. Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster OH 44691 or Hopewell Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund 6900 SR 754, Shreve OH 44676.
