MILLERSBURG — Lavonne Uhl, 92, of Millersburg, passed away, Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Majora Lane Care Center, Millersburg, after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at noon at Faith Lutheran Church of Millersburg, where friends may call from 10 a.m.-noon prior to the services at the church. Pastor John Moffett will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Faith Lutheran Church of Millersburg, 187 S. Clay St., Millersburg 44654.

Lavonne was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Wayne County, the daughter of Floyd and Erma (Swarts) Strock, and on Oct. 27, 1946, married Jerry Uhl. He preceded her in death July 14, 2012.

Lavonne was a homemaker and worked the family farm. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Millersburg, were she was active in the Womens Circle and sang in the choir. Lavonne was a member of the Hardy Grange, the Holmes County Farm Bureau, and sang with the Sweet Adelines. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed reading and loved traveling with her husband.

Surviving are sons, Floyd (Rose) Uhl of Richlands, N.C., and Gary (Lois) Uhl of Millersburg; grandchildren, Nichole (Ro) Hernandez, Kara (JB) Barton and Trisha (Brent) Giauque; great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason Hernandez, Jayce and Briella Barton and Brooklyn and Londyn Giauque; a sister, Margaret (Dale) Kauffman of Shreve; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents; brothers, Ben, Paul and Kenny; and sisters, Kathryn, Mary and Eileen.
