Lawyer, Writer. José Virgilio Garza Gómez studied at the Monterrey Seminary and the Civil College. He graduated as a lawyer from the School of Jurisprudence of the State of Nuevo León. He was distinguished by his literary and oratorical skills. He directed the magazine "Revista contemporánea," in which local and national writers collaborated. He is remembered for the speech he gave on the morning of September 20, 1986 in the plaza of the Civil College, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Monterrey foundation.
