On March 8, 2019, Marian (Mickie) Lewellen Singleton went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief illness.

Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Little Rock Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church.

Born July 11, 1934 in Raeford, North Carolina to the late Ora A. Lewellen and George H. Lewellen her father. Mickie was a loving and devoted daughter who was a caretaker to both her mother and father in their later years.

Mickie was a life-long resident of Dillon, South Carolina. She graduated from Dillon High School in 1955. She was a dedicated employee to Dixiana Mills until their closing in 1995. Shortly after she embarked on her second career as a 4K teacher assistant at Dillon Christian Preschool. She would spend the next 15 years or so touching the lives of the students who crossed her path.

After retirement Mickie was a lover of simple pleasures: traveling, front porch sitting, good food, and Fridays spent with her special companion, Elizabeth Price, her oldest granddaughter.

Mickie also had many hobbies and activities that she enjoyed. She was an active member of Little Rock Baptist Church (LRBC) where she was a member of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. She also participated in the Women's Missionary Union (WMU). She also relished in the outings with the LRBC Senior Ministry. She enjoyed her monthly AARP meetings where she served in the past as the president. Mickie was also a dedicated alum so she spent many years planning her DHS Class of 1955 yearly reunions. She always enjoyed planning this event and catching up with friends.

Mickie loved her family and was preceded in death by her mother and father, her eldest brother, Wallie T. Lewellen, and her youngest brother, Reverend Gene Lewellen. She is survived by her three children, Sandy Nethery, Robin Price (Sonny), and Steve Singleton all of Dillon, SC; her granddaughters whom she loved dearly, Elizabeth Price and Sarah Bruce Lynch (Trey) both of Dillon, SC, and her precious great-grandsons Noah and Jonah Lynch who she visited with every day and always had a special treat for them. Mickie is also survived by her brother, Earl Lewellen (Jeanette) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and sister, Joann Wishart (Frank) of Lumberton, NC and two special sisters-in-law Brenda Lewellen of Land O'Lakes, Florida and Sandra Austin of Kershaw, SC and a host of nieces and nephews.
