He grew up in Vízvár, Hungary but fled in 1949 during the aftermath of WWII with his cousin Mihai.
They attempted to go to Australia but were denied entry. He finally immigrated to Canada in 1951 as a refugee.
Rudolf first worked as a lumberjack in the forests of Quebec and then as a hospital custodian in Ottawa.
He moved to Toronto and worked as plasterer and drywall finisher. He retired at 61.
During his time in Toronto he married Magdalena Szitipány and had three children.
After their separation, he met Magdalene Jassmann and added two more children to the family.
In 2014, he passed away in the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ferencz "Frank" Joszcep, his sisters Rozalia and Margrit, his daughter Kathleen, and his life partner Magdalene.
He left behind three sons, 13 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Rudolf was always a caring and loving father. He enjoyed playing with all of his grandchildren and walking them to school and back. When you walked into a room he was always there to meet you with a smile and hello.
