Marilyn H. Andersen, 84, of Sterling, passed away Sunday December 3, 2017 at her daughters’ home in Sterling, Idaho.
She was born January 21,1933 in Clearfield, Utah to Theodore Herbert and Ruth Barlow. Marilyn has lived Ely, Nevada and Sterling, Idaho. She attended grade school in Sterling, Idaho then later graduated from Aberdeen High School.
On December 30th, 1952 she married Rowayne P. Andersen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Marilyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. She served faithfully in numerous callings in the LDS church for many years. She served LDS missions with her husband to: Cove Fort Mission, Utah from 1997-1999, Pocatello Idaho Mission in 2001 for 13 months and a Genealogy Mission in American Falls for 18 months. They worked at the Idaho Falls Temple for twelve years.
Marilyn worked as a lunch lady at Aberdeen School District for 19 years.
Her favorite job was raising 5 beautiful children. She is survived by sons Kent (Marlene) Andersen, of Idaho Falls, Glenn (Tami) Andersen, of Springfield, Ted (Jolene) Andersen, of Sterling; daughters JuDean (Tony) Young, of Cheyenne Wyoming, Julie (Edward) Henicksman, of Sterling. Brother, Victor (Dalene) Herbert, of Pocatello. Sisters, Pat Steed, of Washington and Ruth Adams, of Utah/Sterling; 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sweetheart Rowayne Andersen; Parents Theodore and Ruth Herbert, brotherDuane Herbert, (granddaughter) Jennifer Young Trevino.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at the Lakeview Ward LDS Chapel under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home. The family will meet with the friends and relatives from 6 to 8p.m. Friday December 8th,2017 at the Lakeview Ward LDS church and again one hour prior to services.
