Mrs. Dora Holland, wife of Edward Holland of this city, died in Elgin at 9:40 p.m. Sunday night.

Mrs. Holland was taken to the hospital in Elgin four weeks ago, following a mental breakdown. She had been failing in health for 18 months.

Last Saturday, Mr. Holland was notified that his wife was in a critical condition and he left at once for Elgin accompanied by his daughter. The body arrived in Rockford at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Funeral arrangements will be made tomorrow. It is the present plan to hold services on Wednesday.

Mrs. Holland was 44 years old last March and was born in Janesville, Wisconsin. Her maiden name was Brown. Her marriage to Mr. Holland took place 25 years ago. They lived in Janesville at various periods until 5 years ago when they moved to Rockford. Besides the husband and daughter, Anna, she is survived by a brother Edward Brown of Janesville, and a sister, Mrs. Kate Woods of Boston.

In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by sisters Mary and Ellen, and brothers James and John.
