APPALACHIA, Va. Joyce Bledsoe Smith, 77, passed away Saturday (Dec. 19, 2009) at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Inman, Va. and Appalachia, Va. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Appalachia, Va., where she was a trustee and clerk for over 38 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert P. Smith; one daughter, Pamela K. Smith; her parents, Ted and Lillie Mae (Hobbs) Bledsoe; her brother, Gayle Bledsoe; and two sisters, Louise Flanary and Juanita Beavers.
She is survived by one daughter, Priscilla Smith Acevedo of Montclair, N.J.; one son, J.T. Snuffy Smith and wife, Yvette of Albany, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Desiree Smith, Shea Smith, Grant Smith, Alexander Acevedo, Caleb Smith, Priscilla Smith and Wyatt Smith; one sister, Ruth Bledsoe Spears of Twinsburg, Ohio
Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
