Milton G. Lennick, 84, Bismarck, went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2015, after a long battle with cancer.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 6, at Calvary Free Lutheran Church, 417 South Anderson Street, Bismarck, with Rev. Kerry Stastny and Rev. Dr. Lucas Kavlie officiating. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, March 5, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Milton "Milt" Lennick was born on August 24, 1930, in Hebron, ND, the son of John and Pauline (Imhof) Lennick. He was raised and attended school in Zap, ND. Milt married Elaine Moos on August 8, 1954. After serving in the US Army he worked as a ranch-hand and mechanic before entering law enforcement.

In 1963, Milt became a Deputy for the Morton County Sheriff's Department and in 1967 a Special Agent for the ND Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), retiring in 1994. During his career, he graduated from the FBI National Academy; became a SWAT leader and trainer, served as President of the ND Peace Officers Association, and received the "Lone Eagle Award". After retiring from the BCI, Milt envisioned and accomplished the ND Peace Officers Memorial for fallen officers on the State Capitol Grounds.

Milt's love for the Lord was expressed through church leadership and music ministry as a gospel singer for over 60 years. He sang with an octet, and the Bis-Man Gospel Singers. His favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:31.

Milt is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Elaine; his children, Cindy (Gaylord) Kavlie, Bonnie (Steve) Kness, Kim (Alison) Lennick, and Donna (Steve) Broten; his grandchildren, Lisa (Greg) Cagle, Lucas (Kerry) Kavlie, Laura (Jon) Lohse, Landon (Laura) Kavlie, Tonya, Colin, Brent, Bryan, and Kyle Kennedy, Michael and Jen Kness, Kristi (Zach) Miller, Aimee (Andy) Ault, Sean, Rachel, and Jacob Lennick, Ben, Angela, Erica, and Katrina Broten; and great-grandchildren, Ciara, Joslynn, and Jordan Cagle, Joshua and Rachel Kavlie, Abby, and Fred Lohse, Baby Kavlie, Railey and Nolan Speck, and Elijah Ault. He is also survived by his brother, Armin (Joan) Lennick; his sisters, Marge Kroh, Esther (Alvin) Vietz, and Ruby Funk; his aunt, Delores Imhof; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline; his brothers, John, Richard, Clarence, and Raymond; and his sister, Ruth.
