Jordan enlisted as a private in the 1st Regiment, TN Mounted Volunteers on July 1, 1836 and was discharged in 1837. Although any stone marking his grave was lost to time and neglect in this cemetery, the present gravestone was obtained by Paul E. Sanders (great great grandson) from the National Department of Veteran Affairs in 1992.
