Edith Atkinson
Edith Adaline Atkinson, daughter of Charles and Maria Cicero, was born August 23, 1910 at Heilwood, Penn. and died November 15, 1979 at Kansas, City, Mo. at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 22 days.
She received her teaching certificate at Indiana Teachers College in Indiana, Penn. in 1934 and a bachelor of science degree in education at Kansas State University in 1955.
She married Harry Atkinson in September, 1934. Three sons were born to this union.
In the fall of 1955 they moved to Belleville where she taught the 5th grade for 19 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Edwards Church in Belleville.
She was a member of State and National Teachers Associations and the Republic County Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
Survivors include her husband; three sons: Thomas of Toronto, Canada, James R. and Richard C., Kansas City, Mo.; one sister Mrs. Irene VanPattan, Phoenix, Ariz.; four brothers: Rupert and Sylvester Cicero, Kittanning, Penn., Octavius Cicero, Washington, Penn., Mario Cicero, Carrolltown, Penn.
Funeral services were held November 19, at St. Edwards Church, Belleville, with
