In 1932 Hugh Quigley Staver and Addie Johnston Staver recorded six memorials with transcriptions and noted - "Every stone broken and (the site) completely abandoned and grown to thorn bushes."
In April 1975 Joseph Boyd and Doris Wrigley Boyd visited the site and found only two inscribed memorial markers and indicated - "The Burial Site is shaped like a triangle and all three sides measure about 70 feet each, a very deep ravine forming the east boundry. Broken and bleached tree limbs and empty tin cans cover the ground where can be seen about 11 broken stubs of old fieldstones marking graves. Numerous sunken spots indicate forgotten and unmarked tombs."
A visit to the site in May 2017 by J. Kelsey Jones located the two memorial markers that the Boyds had found, both laying on the ground, one a few inches below the ground surface and the other broken in several pieces. An extensive search and probing failed to locate the other transcribed memorial markers. The cemetery is bordered by Oneida Road on the north, Interstate I-86 on the south and a very deep ravine on the east. It is evident that there has been disturbance on the Oneida Road side of the cemetery with earth being pushed into a mound along the edge which could have impacted memorial markers. The construction of the interstate may have also impacted the cemetery. There are over a dozen native stones bearing no inscription marking burials. They are in several very definitive rows, one row about thirty feet in length, which suggests there are possibly over twenty or thirty burials.
