Breckenridge, Mrs. Frances S. (Adams), second daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. George Q. Adams, of Norwalk, was born at Sullivan, Ashland county, Ohio, December 19, 1840 and died September 2, 1926, in her 86th year, at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Metta Breckenridge, in Huron. When a young child she moved with her parents to Plymouth, Huron county, and later, after her father had been elected probate judge of Huron county, the family came to Norwalk to reside. When a young woman Frances Adams was united in marriage to Benjamin T. Breckenridge whose early life was spent on a farm near Grafton, Ohio. Later he engaged in the insurance business which he carried on succesfully up to the time of his death. After their marriage Mr. And Mrs. Breckenridge lived for a few years in Columbus, Ohio, going from there to St. Paul, Minnesota, where Mr. Breckenridge died many years ago, his family then coming to Norwalk to reside. There were born of the union four children, George A., Emma, and May, now deceased and Benjamin T. Jr., who resides at Anchorage, Ky. There are also left to mourn the death of Mrs. Breckenridge four grandchildren, Robert and Ralph Breckenridge of Sandusky, and Adams Breckenridge and Mrs. Eugene W. LeCompte, of Anchorage, Ky.; Two great-grandsons of Sandusky and one sister, Mrs. F.C. Wickham of Cleveland besides a number of Nephews and nieces, and many friends. She was a sister of the late Mrs. F.C. Wickham and Col J.Q. Adams of Norwalk. Mrs. Breckenridge was a woman of high ideals and sterling character, gentle, refined and lovable. Funeral services, held at the Norwalk Presbyterian church, of which she was a member, were conducted by Rev. Lane W. Barton of Shelby, a nephew, assisted by Rev. Dr. W.H. Shields, pastor of the church. Interment took place at Woodlawn cemetery. From "The Firelands Pioneer"
