Charles Thomas "Tom" Aberts, Jr. age 71, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster. Born February 7, 1941 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Thelma (Kram) Aberts, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn (Ray) Aberts. Tom was retired from Caplan Brothers Glass Co. in Baltimore. He enjoyed his retirement by spending it with his wife Carolyn up at Lake Raystown. He looked forward to fishing with friends and family on the Nellie Belle. Tom loved tinkering on his farm in Taneytown and was always seen riding his golf cart around with Ziggy. He was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Terrie Ferguson and husband Jeff of Orrtanna, PA; sons, Todd Aberts of Union Bridge and Steven Aberts and wife Michelle of Taneytown; grandchildren, Candace, Andrew, Ashley, Dylan, Brody, Jennifer, and Sara; sister, Pat Lopez and husband Don of Baltimore. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 4-8 PM and on Saturday from 12 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St. Taneytown with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
