Chris was a member of the band for country singer, Reba McEntire. He served as guitarist, back-up singer, and songwriter. Eight members of the band, pilot and co-pilot, died when their plane crashed on the side of Otay Mountain, near San Diego, California. It is believed that poor visibility may have caused the crash. Those in the crash were Chris Austin, Kirk Cappello, Joey Cigainero, Paula Kay Evans, Jim Hammon, Terry Jackson, Anthony Saputo, Michael Thomas, Pilot Donald Holms, and Co-pilot Chris Hollinger. Chris had also played with the Ricky Skaggs Band.∼Chris Austin-
