Family tradition has it that Galusha told Susan that he was born in 1826 because he didn't want her to know she was older than he was. He also told her that he hadn't been married before and didn't have any children. Galusha M. Cole's lineage has been documented through Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames of the 17th Century.
