R. P. Ince, 89, of Whitney, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Kenneth Stevens and Rev. Bobby Booth officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 27, at the funeral home.

R. P. was born in Hill County, Texas, to the late Jessie and Frances Griffin Ince. On July 31, 1942, he married Annie Mae Carmichael. During World War II, he served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He had worked for the Lake Whitney Corps of Engineers in park maintenance for 30 years, retiring in 1979. An avid fisherman and gardener, he also enjoyed hunting arrowheads. R. P. was a member of the Towash Baptist Church and a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Annie, on February 18, 1998; daughter-in-law, Debbie Ince; sisters, Aline Eddleman, Lorene Shaw, and Mary Lou Riddle; and brothers, Jimmy Ince, J. W. Ince, Edwin Ince, George Ince, and Willie Ince.

Survivors include his sons, Richard Ince, of Burleson, and Ronnie Ince, of Whitney; daughter, Patricia Young and husband, James, of Burleson; grandchildren, LeAnn Lindahl and husband, Alan, of Arlington, Heather Meredith and husband, Matt, of Burleson, Richard Young, of Katy, Gerald Young and wife, Carrie, of Hutto, Chris Ince and wife, Shiloh, of Whitney, Jeremy Ince and wife, Tracy, of Clifton; great-grandchildren, Garrett, McKenzie, Kayla, Chloe, Taylor, Paige, Brylee, Trenton, and Addison; sister-in-laws, Pearl Ince, Velta Ince, and Wanda Gant, all of Whitney; and many other family members, and numerous friends.
