Walter C. Allen, 79, died Sunday, March 22, at Providence Portland Medical Center.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Willamette National Cemetery.
Allen was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Quincy, Fla., to John and Myrtle Allen. He enlisted in the Navy in December 1954 and was discharged in September 1975.
In 1958, he married Diane Allen (Brown) in Vancouver, Wash. They moved to Estacada in 1993, and he worked delivering The Oregonian in town for 13 years.
He is survived by his wife; his two sons, John Allen of Spokane and Joe Allen of Gladstone; his brother, Herbert Allen of Tallahassee, Tenn.; and his sister, Shirley Adams of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Allen.
