Aubuchon entered McBride High School in September of 1941. He played football on the 'C' team. In his sophomore year, he was the Lightweight Boxing Champ on the Boxing Team. He left McBride in 1942 to join the U.S Navy at the age of 16. Aubuchon was killed in action near Okinawa, Japan on March 26, 1945. He was 18 years old. His brother wrote: "Tom had no fear of anything. He would climb the highest trees, utility poles, bridges or whatever to prove his daring.'
McBride High School was and still is located on Kingshighway and Cote Brilliante avenues. The school opened from 1925-1971.
