Col. Marcos was famous under the name "Marking" he was a natural born leader, a Filipino ex-boxer and ex-bus driver who led the guerilla group known as Marking's Guerillas. He married Yay Panlilio.

Marcos V. Agustin (Brig Gen Marcos Marking) born in the Phillipines initiated a large group of loyal Phillipino soldiers, took command and with the help of Yay Panillio carried out a valuable contribution to the U.S. War effort from the beginning of the Japanese Occupation of the Phillipines right up to the liberation of the Phillipines in 1945. Col Marking was one of the main characters in Yay Panlilio's biography "The Crucible" during WWII. He was a decorated war veteran and an important figure in the ouster of the Japanese from the Phillipine Islands during WWII. Marcos Villa Agustin--Brig Gen. Marcos Villa Marking is buried in the Marking Family Cemetery in Rizal P.I.
