Sally was born Sarah Gertrude Brunette in Rice Lake, Wis., to the late Edmund Joseph and Adele Rose (Demars) Brunette. She married Robert Sparks Sr. "Sparky" in 1935 and they had one son, Robert Jr. "Bob." The family settled in Talala, Okla., where Sally was active in St. Therese Catholic Church in Collinsville. After Sparky's death, Sally married Luther Adams and moved to Inola, Okla. After Luther's death, Sally moved to Waco to be close to Bob and his family.
Sally was youthful and energetic even into her 90s. She was a devoted Catholic all her life and embodied the Christian spirit. She was loving, accepting, and generous with everyone she knew. Sally valued family above everything else, and she loved reunions and holiday gatherings. Her other passion was playing card games, and she was tough to beat even at the end of her life.
She is survived by her son, Bob Sparks and his wife, Donna, of Hewitt; granddaughter, Julie Winckler and her husband, C.J., of Jackson, Miss.; great-grandsons, Liam and Graham Winckler; many nieces and nephews scattered across the country; and the Adams family in Oklahoma.
