Member of the Partido Liberal Mexicano (PLM) party along with Ricardo and Enrique Flores Magon--publishers of Regeneracion which was a source of news on the Mexican Revolution. In April 1911 the leading figures of the PLM exiled in Los Angeles — Ricardo and Enrique Flores Magon, Antonio de P. Araujo, Anselmo L. Figueroa and Librado Rivera — issued a "Manifesto to the Workers of the World." Anselmo L. Figueroa along with Ricardo Magon was sent to McNeil Penitentiary by the U.S. government for their actions against Mexico.

Son of Pablo Figueroa and Gertrudes Contreras.
